Classroom Policies and FAQs

 

Music Together® classes are held on a semester basis, with each semester featuring weekly, 45 minute classes.  Each semester has a theme, such as Sticks, Flute, Tamborine, etc.  The music rotates on a three year basis with new music being incorporated regularly. In each class, parents or caregivers in class will sing, dance and use instruments to make music!

 

Parents and Caregivers in Class.  We welcome parents or caregivers to bring children to class.  Caregivers may be a grandparent, nanny or sitter, etc. We ask that you list caregivers on your registration sheet who will be bringing children to class.  During class, we ask that parents participate and help lead our the children in musical play.  We know that parents or caregivers may want to talk with others and invite you to stay a few minutes after class to talk with your Music Together friends.  

 

Food and Drink in Class.  We understand children or parents may get thirsty during class.  Water is welcome during class but please save snacks for after class!  

 

Shoes and Bags:  Adults, please try to remove your shoes and be in socked feet during class.  This way we can protect the littlest hands and feet that are on the ground.

 

Location and Contact Information.  Classes will be held at Christ church Frederica, 6329 Frederica Road, St. Simons Island, GA.  We will be in the Parish Hall, located at the church's second entrance where you will see the playground equipment.  Classes will be held in the 1st/2nd grade Sunday School room.  Once you enter the Parish Hall, please cross the large room and proceed down the hallway.  The room will be the second one on your right.

Facilities and Christ Church Grounds:  Christ Church has generously hosted us and allowed us to use their facilities for our Music Together classes.  Please help us to keep the space tidy by picking up and disposing of any trash or snacks before leaving.  

 

Tuition Rates.  Tuition for the first child is $205, and then $99 for siblings.  If the sibling is 8 months or younger as of the first day of class, and the sibling accompanies a registered child, then the fee will be waived.  We also have a one-time only administration fee of $10 for new registrants. 

Tuition Includes:

  • Ten (10) weekly 45 minute classes
  • A professionally recorded CD--for use at home or for riding in the car.  The CD features the semester's 25 songs, rhythmic chants, instrumental and movement pieces.
  • A beautifully illustrated songbook with family activity suggestions. 
  • Classes include parent education to help adults understand and enhance their child's music development. 
  • Families will also receive a quarterly e-newsletter and access to the national informative website. 
  • New families receive a DVD and booklet, "Music Together® At Home: Helping Your Child Grow Musically"; a guide for parents and caregivers.
  • "The Family Music Zone" membership, an on-line resource for accessing the song collection from any device, plus enriched support materials for your whole family

Tuition payments are due at the first class of the semester.  Payment is accepted via personal check.  Please make checks payable to Golden Isles Music Together.  

 

Withdrawals and Refunds.  We understand that occasionally circumstances or schedules change.  If you need to withdraw and do so a week before the start of the semester, we will be able to provide a full refund.  If you need to withdraw during the first week of class, we will refund your tuition payment, minus $42 which is collected by Music Together LLC for each student's materials.  

 

Class Days and Times.  Our class days and times are found on our website.  Each semester, we try to tentatively schedule classes based on need and interest.  Unfortunately, if a class does not have sufficient registrants, we will have to cancel the class and you may register for another day and time.

 

We will follow the Glynn County school system for all school closures and inclement weather closing, as well as their holiday schedule.  If there is a holiday during a Music Together semester, we will provide our students the option of continuing to hold the class or schedule a make up class after the semester is completed.

 

Visitors in Class.  We love to see friends in class! Everyone may have one free class to learn more about Music Together before registering. Please let us know at least 24 hours in advance if someone will be trying out the class so we will expect them!

 

Privacy.  We respect your privacy and will not share your information with anyone but our licensor, Music Together, LLC.  Your email and mailing addresses will be shared only with Music Together LLC for educational and quality assurance purposes.

Music Together LLC sends enrolled families an e-newsletter four times per year. If you prefer not to receive these emails, you may unsubscribe via a link at the bottom of each newsletter. Music Together respects your privacy and will never share or sell your email address to anyone else. 

From time to time, we may want to take pictures of our music together classes for our website.  We will get permission from each parent before posting a picture of your child.
